“Bori” is a proud abbreviation of “Boricua”, derived from Borinquen, the Taíno name for Puerto Rico, meaning “Land of the Brave Lord.” It represents Puerto Rican heritage, strength, and cultural pride.
Bori Fest is a vibrant platform uniting Puerto Ricans and Nuyoricans to showcase their work and spark new creative collaborations. Highlighting film, music, art, and gastronomy, the festival celebrates shared culture and commonalities, offering a space to connect, exchange ideas, and inspire future projects that strengthen both communities.
Presented by La Gesta Inc. and Oceanus Corp (both 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations), in collaboration with the 19-year Lusca Film Fest, the festival highlights Puerto Rican filmmakers, musicians, and creatives, celebrating the island’s rich cultural legacy and its lasting contributions to the arts in New York and beyond.
Lusca Film Fest is Puerto Rico’s leading genre film festival and the largest of its kind in the Caribbean. Now in its 19th edition, it serves as a dynamic platform for emerging and established filmmakers, offering screenings, interactive experiences, cosplay, workshops, and industry panels. With a focus on cinematic excellence and cultural exchange, Lusca connects local talent to the global film industry, positioning Puerto Rico as a key hub for genre cinema. This event is produced by Oceanus Corp., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
